What's the difference between effemerids and almanacs ?

In the navigation message sended from the GNSS satellite to the earth we have both, effemerids give the exact position
of the satellite at a certain moment and all the parameters to calculate its position in other moments.
Almanacs instead are the approximated effemerids of all the other satellites.
